The University of Rhode Island Dept. of Landscape Architecture seeks to fill a position at the rank of Faculty of Professional Practice, beginning Fall 2020. The Faculty of Professional Practice will be reviewed annually and is not eligible for tenure or permanent status.

Applicants should have strong organizational skills, be self-motivated, work well independently, as well as portray positive interpersonal and client communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture (Architecture or Engineering).

Skills Required:

  • Must be fluent in AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Photoshop, Adobe Suite.

  • Possess ability to accurately and efficiently produce Conceptual Design and Working Drawings / Construction Documents, including construction details.

  • Competent understanding of contours and grading.

  • Understanding of hardscape and pool construction.

  • Possess high level of attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of Plant Materials.

  • Knowledge of typical office software, i.e., Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Word.

A college degree from an accredited program, strong design skills plus proficiency in AutoCAD, and an acceptance of our office dog, a malamute named Gladys, are all necessary attributes. Landscape Architect (posted July 31, 2019)

JMC is a prominent firm of over 50 professionals providing Site Planning, Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, and Land Surveying on public and private land development projects throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The firm is seeking motivated Landscape Architects with 3-6 years of experience to join our team.

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Land Planning and Landscape Design

  • Preparation of Landscape Construction Documents

  • Demonstrating proficiency in all design- and drafting-related software, AutoDesk, Civil 3D, Drainage software and M-Color.

  • Responsible for multiple facets of project document preparation and delivery including: site layout plans, grading and drainage plans, utilities plans, sediment and erosion control plans, road profiles, utility profiles, technical calculations, cost estimates, traffic studies, stormwater reports, presentation graphics, applications, etc.

  • Assist in preparation efforts for technical meetings with review entities and public meetings


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

  • RLA registration a plus.

  • AutoCAD, Civil 3D experience required.
    Excellent writing, communication, and analytical skills.

Compensation commensurate with experience.
